• ! j I 1 MORE NEW ARRIVALS AT NEW ORLEANS. Wilson and Marrone Stables Reach the Track in Good Condition — Pan Zareta Coming, t , New Orleans. La., December 1. — The advance brigade of Maryland turfmen reached New Orleans yesterday and this morning, when several pretentious racing establishments arrived at the Fair Grounds. Consignments included a division of the stable of R. T. Wilsun. president of the Sarati ga Association, embracing Hester Prynne. Wizard. Tralee and Plantagenet. Trainer Thomas J. Hoaley. who will be in charge of the racers, is now at Belmont Park preparing for the shipment of a half dozen of the yearlings recently purchased in England for the account of Mr. Wilson. The youngsters are intended for a real try-out during tl.e poiiod of fifty-seven days racing to be held here. Another outfit that reached here this morning and .should play a prominent part in the Fair Grounds racing is that of the Marrone Stable. This band pintbraced the well-known horses J. J. Lillis. Ambrose. Northlight. Gallop. Ringling and Dartwort.i. These horses shipped in good condition and will b» continued in training. The veteran Green B. Morris, who in point of active racing service, is the oldest turfman in the country, was an arrival this morning. He came from Bowie and brought only one racer, the filly Rose Juliette. Former jockey W. Martin arrived yesterday from Sweetwater. Texas, where he has been sojourning at the H. S. Newman ranch since the close of Kentucky racing. He reports that the Newman h irses. including the crack mare Pan Zareta. will arrive here next week. There will be probably tiftecn horses in the consignment, most of them coming two-year-olds bred at the Newman farm. General Manager Joseph A. Murphy and Secretary McLennan will arrive tomorrow from Washington and begin preliminary work in connection with the racing. Offices have been established by the Business Mens Racing Association in the Macheca building and will be ready for occupancy when Manager Murphy arrives. Arrivals of turfmen continue numerous and the city is beginning to take on an air such as prevailed in the prosperous days of racing in this community.
