BOWIES HIGHLY SUCCESSFUL MEETING. The meeting just ended at Bowie has lieen highly successful even licyond the exiieetations of its promoters. The racing was without a blemish, and while not so many liorses of class were engaged, big fields of well-matched entries made the contests unusuallv close and exciting. The attendance held up wonderfully, and the interest seemed to increase as the meeting went on. There is an undenably healtbv interest in racing both in Washington and Baltimore, and with better transportation facilities Bowie is destined to catch as big crowds as Eaurel or Piinlico. The management has every reason to congratulate itself on putting in the mutuels. which it did with some misgiving. The new method of letting has taken wonderfully with the public4, and the net results to the association have been flat-tering The meeting was well managed in every particular, and Manager 0"llara and his associates have given the public one of the cleanest meetings Parole iu Baltimore Xews. ever seen in Maryland. —
