About four oclock the fascinating fair one api eared on the course, her horse led by the celebrated sport iug Colonel Thornton." The ladys mount led for about three miles, when the other took it up and won easily. Mrs. Thornton rode her own weight against that* of tlie jockey. Mr. Flint. "She rode in a leopard-colored and buff body, with blue sleeves and cap. Her real name was Alicia Meynell. the dans-i-ter of a respectable watchmaker of the City f Norwich, and was then about twenty-two years of age. handsome, fair complexion, light hair, blue eyes, and fascinating." Odds were laid on her horse at the start. The lady won races later. In a match for 2.000 guineas, half forfeit, four hogsheads of Coti Roti, and 600 guineas bet by Mrs. Thornton, her mount walked over and on the same day she won a match for a cup, value 700 guineas, distance two miles, on Colonel Tliorntons Louisa.
