SMII.AX. after racing close up, came around the leaders in the homestretch and, finishing gamely. won drawing clear. HAVANA raced into a small lead on the last turn, but gave way in the final drive. BALL BAND finished fast. MARIGOLD quit after racing iu closest pursuit to the last eighth. TAB HER siiowed the most early speed, but also quit. RUTH STRICKLAND was saved to the stretch, then raced STUNNER to defeat in a hard drive and outstayed QIEEN APPLE at the end. The latter came through on the inside after entering the homestretch and made a fast and game finish. STINNER set a fast pace to the stretch and tired. SENATOR CASEY finished well. STELCLIFF quit.
