LACKR0SE IS DEFEATED BY HARD BALL. El Pd-o. Tex.. February 10. After having won four of his preceding five starts. It. P. Dickinsons Lackreae played â– eeoad fiddle to Hard Ball at the finish of the seven-eighths handicap that was the particular attraction at Juarez this afternoon. Lack rose held a temporary lead in the stretch when Justice Goebel. the pacemaker, gave it up. but could not cope with Hard Balls rush from the rear. Two carloads of horses returned today from Tijuana. Among the shipments were the horses of J. L. Beeklcini, Joe Quinlaii. M. Itieser and the remainder were the property of one and twe-herse owners. There were twenty four horses In the consignment.
