Hall, of Sacramento. 0*1., has a filly by the stallion out of Screenwell Lake and Tamiga. dam of Adelaide T.. has a weanling colt. Both are said to be good lookers. Glory Belle, Sprint. Whitney Belle, King Baggot. Tom McTaggart. Sargon II., Crack oDuy, Ed Garrison. Walter Dame. Tomlin-son. Flotsam II.. Alberta True. Veuve Cliquot, Mae Murray and Napoleon are two-year-olds that will race iii the name of the Brighton Stable, for which George M. Odom is trainer. The late Robert Davies was one of the richest residents of Toronto. His father and mother came from Cheshire. Kng. His first business venture was in partnership with his brother in the Don Brewing company from 1S72-1S77. The next year he founded the Dominion Brewing company, which he continued until 1900. When he sold out to an English syndicate. He turned his attention next to the brick plant of Taylor Bros., which he bought in 1901. In 190S he also purchased their paper mills, which were incorporated as the Don Valley Paper Company, Limited, and of which he became president. He was in addition to this president of the | Copland Brewing company. His holdings in all | these companies were extensive. He married Miss | Margaret Taylor in 1874 and had six sous and three ! daughters.
