OAKLAND AMONG THE TIJUANA WINNERS. San Diego, Cal., November 21. The old stager, Oakland, was finally moved into a field in which he was able to win. He stole an early lead and held his advantage despite the late rushes of Bad Prospect and Rag. This was ladies day and there was a good crowd present. Thirteen books were in operation. T. McTaggart and J. Byrne were new arrivals at the track. They are anxious to get in action and will probably take their places in the saddle within a few days. Harry Breivogel and Gene Elrod, of the Jockey Club Juarez, were visitors at the track today. Charles Kissel, a former bookmaker and now a leading producer in the movies, came down from Los Angeles. He plans making a long stay of it. A yearling by Plaudit, owned by W. Nestlchouse, was today sold to the Trocadero Stable. Florence Campbell, a two-year-old, was also purchased from Campbell and Jennings by the Trocadero Stable. The filly Poppee was sent along for a good thing today, but she succumbed to the stretch rush made by Blanchita. Horace Paul led a group that got in from Bowie.
