DATES DENIED PROPOSED NEW TRACK. Promoters of the Bengies Project Turned Down By the Baltimore County Racing Commission. Baltimore, Md.. Jan. 4. —Today a damper was thrown over the prospects of the new race track. Designed to be located at Bengies in Baltimore County, when the Baltimore County Racing Co.n mission refused to grant the track racing dates, their being a general opposition to the location of more tracks in Eastern Maryland. Cnder the law the Commission is required to state in writing its reasons for refusing a license and dates to a race irack and its action in the case is subject to review by the Circuit Court of Baltimore . County, rresumably the promoters of the Bengies project will ask for such a review. The application for a license was made by the East Baltimore Driving Association and was only acted upon unfavorably after considerable discussion. Other racing interests throughout the state stood opposed to the establishment of another track in Maryland, fearful that the reform element would use the building of an additional course as an argument for patttag all the racing associations of the state out of business.
