PROMOTERS OF BENGIES TRACK TO FIGHT. .Appeal to the Courts from Decision of Racing Commission First Move. Baltimore. Md.. January 14. — To the Baltimore Sun Osborne 1. Yollott, counsel for the East Baltimore Driving Association of Baltimore County, which proposes to construct a new mile track at i.i ngies. but has been refused racing dates by the Baltimore County Racing Association, gave out a statement in which lie said that the associations appeal to the courts from the decision of the Racing Commission was but the beginning of a real fight. Mr. Yellott was very caustic in his statement. He said the association had been the target for snip-t rs, and also that the Racing Commission had been made the dupes of men inspired solely by selfish interests. Mr. Yellott said: "The Racing Commissions refusal to grant our association dates marks only the beginning of the associations fight to get a license to conduct liigh-ciass racing in Baltimore county. Ever since it was first stated that the association would endeavor to secure such a license it has been stib-.c cted to the attacks of snipers from all !ir -otions. The hearing before the Racing Commission baa resulted In unmasking quite a few of these snipers. ami now that we have the range we are going after them, and incidentally after our dates at the same time. "As stated, the fight has just begun, and I am authorized by Mr. William I. Cummings, the secretary of the East Italtimoro Driving Association, to say that the next step of taking the commissions decision into court is only the first step in what is going to be a real fight before it is over. "We have demonstrated to the commission that we proposed to conduct high -class race meetings of national interest, and that one of the Inst tilings which could come out of the granting of our license would be to put tin end to half-mile racing in the state — class of tracks which have done most to bring racing into disrepute in Maryland, as elsewhere."
