FAVORITES DAY AT ORIENTAL PARK. Five Out of Six Choices Win — J. B. Harrcll Beaten by Dignity. Havana. Cuba. January 31. — Todays program at Oriental Iark was made up of a seri-s of sprint races in which well-matched fields went to the peat. l-orni was well sustained and favorites won five eif the six races. The day was ideal for outdoor sport and a large crowel was on hand, the ranks of the regulars be-ing swelled by many first time visitors. Among the new arrivals were Iiitgh Jennings, manager of the Detroit Tigers. David Nicholson. I. Higgins of Montreal and E. C. Griffith of New York. The feature race was a dash of five and a half furlongs, which brought a fair field of sprinters together. It was won by Dignity, xvhich came from behind and beat J. K. Harrell out by a scant half length. ITevious to the races there was a baseball game between the Havana Red Sox and the Havana White Sox, the former winning by a score of 6 to 2. II. R. Dalley purchased Rank Kill of J. B. Marco at private sale after his nice yesterday. Naushon broke clown in his race today. He was so lame when he was pulled up that Knight was forced to dismount. For reporting in unfit condition to ride and using abusive language to the officials. Jockey hfcBwen w.is suspe-ndoel for the remainder of the meeting and denied the privileges of the course.
