ITALYS RACING PROGRAM OF THIS YEAR. The Italian Jockey Club, being strongly backed up by the board of agriculture and not saddled with all sort of unnecessary restrictions, has already issued its program of fixtures for this year. The season, as usual, will open at lisa on February 11. On the following Sunday a start will be made at Rome, with racing thereafter on each Thursday and Sunday except on two occasions when Wednesday and Monday will be substituted until April 12. when the series of spring meetings there will come to an end on Sunday. April 12. the day of the Derby Royal the Italian Derby. Then the scene will be shifted to Milan, where there will be racing every Sunday and Thursday from April 29 to July Si. Tlie chief races at Milan will be the Italian Oaks May i. Prix du Commerce May 13. and Irix Ambrosiano June 10. The last two are big international events. After the usual summer int irral of nearly two months racing will be resumed at Milan from September 2 to November 11, with the Italian Leg r run on September 10 and the international Irix du Simplon on October 7. Subsequently there will be a series of meetings at Rome of two days each week until December 2.
