CURRENT NOTES OF THE TURF. Robert E. .Tucker. Jr.. and his brother Harry M. Tucker, both well-known its gentlemen riders of recognized ability, have lieen accepted for the officers reserve corps. They will be stationed at a fort near Niagara Falls. Mr. Harkness, who is now the sole owner of the valuable Coney Island Jockey Club plant at Sheeps-liead Hay. has not taken long to at least do some good with hi:: new purchase. being thoroughly patriotic he has ordered many acres of the property la tie planted with potatoes and corn, complying with the government reipiest that "every one do his bit." According to report, the results of the planting will be doled out to the poor of the locality, or to a deserving charity.
