BELLE MAIIONE met with repeated interference in the early running and was crowded back, but responded with a rush when called on and was going away at the end. TARAHERA was much used in forcing the terrific enrly pace and tired in the last quarter after having raced into the lead. GALA DRESS ran a good race and outstayed CAPTAIN It. for third place. Won driving; second and third the same. ROYAL SIINNER was a forward contender from the start, fenced cleanly and hung on resolutely in the final drive. EARLY LIGHT tired after moving up fast when going to the fourteenth jump and taking the lead. CHAS. F. GRAINGER outgamed NEW HAVEN. RHOMB fell at the fourteenth fence and MONIKIE at the tenth.
