C0FFR0TH RULE IS 0EJECTI0NABLE. Fair Promoters and Racing Folk:; Object to Lower California Clubs Dominance. San Francisco, Cal., June 9. — Much discussion nnd objection is in California racing circles over James W. Coffroths announced plan to control racing in the extreme west. The fair promoters, who were planning to have running races at their eighteen nicotines, are not willing to apply t- the Tijuana Jockey Ckah for sanctions. They have appealed to the Bafcfea Gate Thoroughbred n»«dua" Association, -which encouraged the holding of those races last year, for assistance. The hreeders are talking of taking some ail ion to check Colfroths lihins. President Charles W. Clark is out of the city, hut upon his return, a meeting of the executive committee will be called. Individual members are discussing the possibility of applying to the Jockey Club of New York for a charter, no that they will he in a position to prevent Mr. Con" roth from dictating to the state and district fairs and. also, from interfering with other meetings that might be held. The breeders declare that if the horsemen are barred from the Tijuana track because they race at the unsanctioned fair meetings, as Coffroth has threatened, the Golden Gate Association would be able to bar horses that compete at Tijuana. The horsemen are noisily discussing the whole affair and a keen dispute is probably in prospect.
