June 19.— The swish of the barrier r.n.l the cry "Theyre off" will be heard at the Hamilton race track a week from next Tuesday with the opening of Hamiltons Jockey Clubs seven-day race meeting. This will be the only meeting held by the club this year on account of cessation of racing in Canada after August 1. Secretary A. It. Loudon of the Hamilton Jockey Club is particularly pleased over the prospects for the Hamilton meeting. He expects a great field of three-year-olds to parade to the jK st In the Derby on opening day. Among the likely starters are the sensational Liberty Loan. Bondage, Iron Cross II., Smart Money, Atwell, Judge Wingfield, Opportunity, Aravan, Fruit Cake, and possibly one or two others. Applications for stable room at Hamilton, according to Mr. Loudon, indicate that a record breaking number of horses will be quartered at the track when the bugle calls the horses to the post in the first race on opening day. Practically all of those horses will be seen at Fort Erie later on.
