KINGS PLATE WILL BE RUN ON MAY 24 Historic Stake to Be Decided at Woodbine Race Track During Horse Show Meeting Toronto Out February 13 The directors of the Ontario Jockey Club have granted the use of Wood ¬ bine Park Toronto to the Toronto Hunt Club on May 24 and 25 for the purpose of holding an open air horse show The entire proceeds of the show will be devoted to the Red Cross fund The direc ¬ tors have decided farther to permit the running of the Kings Plate on May 24 according to the old custom in order that some slight encouragement may be given to breeders of thoroughbred horses in the Province of Ontario and also that the contin ¬ uity of the oldest racing fixture on the Continent of North America may not be broken The money amounting to 3000 in addition to the fifty guineas donated by His Majesty will be given by the On ¬ tario Jockey Club which will make this disburse ¬ ment without any return whatever No other races will be allowed at the horse show and no betting on the big race will be permitted
