EARLY CAMPAIGN FOR OMAR KHAYYAM Great Son of Marco Will Be Prepared for Early Racing at the Maryland Tracks Baltimore Md March Hi In all probability Omar Khayvani will be seen in action before the spring meetings in Maryland have progressed to any extent While no hard work has yet been given the son of Marco he is the picture of health and Itichard F Carman who has him in charge has started to let him go along a bit Sunday Wil ¬ frid Viau owner of the great horse visited Ben niug to look things over Carman permitted Omar Khayyam to gallop R good threeeighths and Mr Viau was bighlv pleased with his performance It is almost certain lie will be sent to the post at the Pimlico meeting if not before beforeThe The stalls at Benning are crowded to capacity and in nearly all cases trainers have started the serious work of conditioning their charges for the first meeting which opens at Bowie April 1 Albert Simons who has charge of a division of the Whit ¬ ney string reports all his horses doing nicely and lie expects to be well represented at the early meeting meetingJohn John F Schorr who is training a division of the Iiorses of K B McLean Is pointing several racers for the Bowie meeting William Garth who has charge of another portion of the MclAan stable including the jumpers also expects to take a promi ¬ nent part in Maryland spring racing Gartb in addition to the McLean horses is looking after several for Cant Ital Parr which are said to be tloinK well
