Kathleen and others that have been figuring prom inently in recent racing history, has informed John Hachmeister. general manager of the Latonia Jockey Club, that it would lie a pleasure to him to contribute a handsome solid silver trophy, valued at ,000. to the Enquirer Handicap of SI. 500 added, which Mr. Hachmeister has just announced ;.s a fix- ture for the approaching Latonia meeting, in addi- tion to the stakes which were closed for entries in March. Manager Hachmeister, in expressing his appre- ciatiou of Mr. McLeans generous ami s|Kirtxmanlike offer, and accepting it in the spirit in which was proffered, informed the Washington •yorteanaa that it was his intention to give the Enquirer Han-I dicap a permanent place among the fixtures of the L-itonia track in future seasons. In that event. Mr. McLean replied he would tie glad to contribute a suitable trophy to the race each year. So the Enquirer Handicap will become a Latonia fixture. This vear it will be run on Saturday, June 15. the second day of the meeting.
