June «!. — The program liook for the first eight days of the La tenia Joekev Clubs summer meeting of twenty six days. Im--ginuing on Friday. June 14. ami continuing until Saturday, July Li. made its appearance yesterday. and was enthusiastically endorsed by the horsemen racing here as for. shadowing a racing season of exceptional brilliancy at "I*air Lntonia." The lKK»k contains the tabulated lists of entries for ten valuable stakes, headed by the L-itonia Derby, which are to be run during the meeting and the conditieiis of the overnight races thai are to form such an attractive feature of the daily programs for the first eight days of the meeting. No less than four stakes are to 1m- decided during the eight days covered by this book, including the Inaugural Handicap of SL.OOO added, on the opening day. June 14; the Baqaner Handicap of Sl.,00 and a ,000 silver trophy donated by Edward B. Me-I an. on Saturday. June l." ; the Clipsetta Stakes of ,000 added en Wednesday. June 19, wliicli will Ik- Ladies Hay. and the big feature of the meeting, the Latouia Derby, on Saturday, June 22. Besides the Inaugural Handicap, the particular feature of the apeaiag days card, there will bo on that day an allowance race for three-year-olds and over at one mile and twenty yards, for a purse of SI. 000: an allowance MSB at three-quarters for three-year-olds and over for a purse of ; a special weight race for maiden two-year-olds at four and a half furlongs for a purse of SM0. of wliicli 00 of the winners share will be paid in War Savings Certificate Siamps: a three quarter mil-sprint for threc-year-ohls and over under claiming conditions for a purse of S 00: a four and a half furiongs claiming dash for two year-olds for a purse of $£00. and a claiming race of SSO0 at one mile and one-eighth for three -year olds and over. And the conditions for the second day are not one whit less attractive. In fact, the high-class horses which will be available at Lntonia for the racing day after day have been especially catered to at ill! times by racing secretary Camplicll. of wauM skill aim ability the liook offers a striking testimonial. The Lntonia meeting is going to be a veritable feast of goad things, one after the other in swift succession. CONTRIBUTIONS TO RED CROSS. As at other race meetings held in Kentucky this year under the jurisdiction of the Kentucky St: to Bacing Commission, the liook provides thai ten per cent of all stakes, purses and moneys woi. by horses shall he donated to the mammoth fun1 of tl.IOO wl.u-h the racing interests of Kentucky have pledged to the Bed Cross Fuad. The management of the Latouia track will contribute its proportionate share from its receipts to this fund, as will the officials and employes of the track. In addition, the track management will collect the usual war tax on all admissions for the government and. besides, will require the winner of one race each day to accept 00 of War Savings Stamps iu part payment of tin- purse. So. all in all. the Latouia rare meeting will contribute no inconsider- able suni for patriotic war purposes. The hour for the running of the first race each afternoon at Litonia will Ik- 2:30 oclock. Tin-officials in charge of the racing will be the same competent staff that has been supervising the s;H.rt at Douglas Park to such good purpose, consisting of the following: Stewards — Charles F. Bru-ii. will lose no time in trans- ferring their activities to Latonia immediately the Douglas Pack meeting, now progressing so salis- factorily, comes to a close on Tuesday next. _ *
