steeplechase over the full course in which only Robert Oliver Reddest and Early Light started resulted in one of the most spectacular affairs ever seen in a race of this description There was no especial incident of the trios running until they came to the Liverpool opposite the clubhouse at which point Reddest the leader bolted to be followed in quick succession by Early Light and Robert Oliver Allen in his effort to prevent Robert Oliver from bolting wheeled him so sharply that he was thrown out of the saddle and landed on Early Light but his quick presence of mind enabled him to practically jump back into the saddle of Robert Oliver which had stayed close to Early Light Allen quickly wheeled Robert Oliver back into the course without losing much ground but almost caused the fall of his mount by a too close take off from the hedge The others meantime had also succeeded in regaining the course and they continued to race in close order for the nest round of the field with Robert Oliver in the van until again coming to the same hedge where Iteddcst again bolted and was followed by Early Light Robert Oliver this time staying in the course was enabled to take an overwhelming lead before the others again got back into the course Reddest and Early Light indulged in a brief duel for place honors but Iteddest drew away after successfully jumping the last obstacle
