WILLIAM MARSHALLS BREEDING FARM FARMLexington Lexington KV September 1J On his way to Lexington from New York this week William Wal ¬ lace stopped off at Pittsburgh and rode out to Bakerstowu to spend a day at the farm of his friend R 1 Marshall the noted attorney who is so fond of thoroughbred horses and the sport of racing Mr Marshall has one of the most beauti ¬ ful and best appointed places it has ever been my good fortune to visit said Wallace After we had walked through two magnificent orchards and a vineyard we went to the stables and paddocks where he has a stallion five mares and three weanlings The stallion is Smoke House the Cali ¬ forniabred son of Orsini and Chaste by Jim Gore British Blue Blood by Bpndigo The mares are The Widow Moon Fidelity Morning Hours TushTush and Ruth Rock the latter being a sister to Granite Fidelity and Morning Hours each have colts and The Widow Moon has a filly all by Smoke House and all of tbo mares were bred to him last spring The colt dam Morning Hours is a good looking big individual much resembling bis sire Mr Marshall informed me that he had sent Reserve to Rome Respess farm near Erlaujjer Ky to be bred to Dick Welles
