AN AUSTRALIAN IRON HORSE Yale Lo k was Australias iron horse In thirteen years modest turf action he figured in 252 races and won fortyfour of them and 28300 His term of racing ran from 1895 to 1907 thirteen years He is buried at Ascot New South Wales under a shaft which tells his story in this terse way An honest horse Yale Lock 1895 to 1907 Yale Lock raced on all Australian courses mostly in moderate company and was owned by P Balger He was a chestnut gelding by Padlock Barvaria and died in 1909 at fifteen years of age
