iTURF GOSSIP FROM NEW ORLEANS Jefferson Park Soon to Announce Its Plans Elaborate Preparations at the Fair Grounds GroundsNew New Orleans La November 5 Efforts are being made by those who are raising S170r 00000 in the War Work Campaign to have the Jefferson Park track open November 10 or November 18 in order that the opening days receipts can lie donated to this fund but it is hardly likely that such an early opening will be attempted especially now that the longdeferred Latonia meeting is about to begin beginWhile While Jefferson 1ark is planning to rush out its lists of stakes and its program book claliorate ar ¬ rangements are being made by the Business Mens Itacing Association to open the Fair Grounds season January 1 It is the hope of the Fair Grounds officials to furnish racing which will eclipse the finest thoroughbred sport of the halcyon days of King Horse Placide Frigerio who is in charge of the track says the Fair Grounds which was last winter pronounced one of the best courses in Ameri ¬ ca will be even better and faster than it was last year Frigerio looks to see records fall right and left as there will he a much higher standard of thoroughbreds here this winter than were here last year yearSupervisor Supervisor I E Ilnnyson of the Business Mens Uicing Association has just finished harvesting the big corn and hay crop raised at the Fair Grounds and he says he is more than ever wrapped up in his project of starting a remount station on the course courseOur Our racing season is going to eclipse anything we have held heretofore said Mr Kennyson It will take care of itself however and cant help being a success What I want to do is to install it few broodmares at the Fair Grounds feed them on our own raised grain and hay and start the foundation for a big remount station
