NEWS FROM THE BLUE GRASS STATE Mickelwait Horses Shipped to Hot Springs Mo ¬ hawk II Presented to U S Breeding Bureau Lexington Ky December 4 The five horses owned by C E Mickelwait have been shipped to Hot Springs by diaries Borel to be wintered at Oaklawn Park They are Zuleika FoHi Madras Gingham Mannikin and Betty The lastnamed two are yearlings which were broken here by Dick Denny Mannikin is a chestnut colt by Fitz Her ¬ bert Manzanita dam of Lord Herbert bred in France Betty is a sister to Dunboyne this years Futurity winner being by Celt Workmaid WorkmaidJohn John Middleton bought for the Pastime Stable a day or two aco from John E Madden a couple of yearling colts one by Hippodrome Searchlight and the other by Voter Light Opera OperaInstead Instead of selling the stallion Mohawk II at the sale here last Friday John Sanford presented him to the government for its breeding bureau
