LONG SHOTS PREDOMINATE Buster Clark Is One of Longest Priced Winners at Havana. Only One Favorite Scores Hamilton A. Beats Good Opposition in Marianao Handicap. HAVANA, Cuba, February 9. Track conditions played havoc with the favorites at Oriental Park this afternoon, the change from a sloppy to a sticky track upsetting the calculations of form backers, resulting in the victory of the longest shot of this meeting when Buster Clark won the maiden race, paying 02.20 in the two-dollar mutuels. A large crowd saw W. E. Applegates Hamilton A. beat a good band in the Marianao Handicap at three-nuarters of a mile, the stake feature o the afternoon. Outpaced by Sparkler in the early running, he went to the front on the turn, when Dreyer. who is back in the saddle after his suspension, held him to an easy dash through the stretch. Corson came from behind and took third place. Faux-Col. almost left at the post, finished third. Sir Wellons fell lame badly. One of the best finishes of the meeting came with the running of the third race, less than 11 half length separating the first four horses at the end. The Grader won by a nose, just lasting long enough to get the decision over Scabbard, which finished with a splendid burst of speed.
