HORSE ASSOCIATION NOT TO INTERFERE Uphold Right of Fair Grounds to Charge Entranco Fee to Races Suggests Raise in Purse3. LEXINGTON, Ky., February 9. The directors of the Thoroughbred Horse Association, all present with the exception of E. K. Bradley, who is in Florida, at a meeting Saturday aftenioon, unanimously adopted the following resolutions: Resolved, That the board of directors of the Thoroughbred Horse Association are opposed to interference with the right of the Business Mens Racing Association to charge entrance fee of 0 to races at the New Orleans Fair Grounds, or not to charge said entrance fee, if it sees fit to discontinue the practice. Resolved. That it is the sense of the board of directors of the Thoroughbred Horse Association, that inasmuch as the horsemen at New Orleans have raced since January 7 for added money averaging 9 per day less than the daily average distribution of the previous year, it is just in the light of its revenues that the Business Mens Racing Association should increase the added money to purses for the remainder of this meeting to such sum as can be agreed upon between representatives of the Business Mens Racing Association and the horsemen. Resolved, that the board of directors of the Thoroughbred Horse Association are opposed to the. practice of individual racing associations charging license fees from trainers and jockeys and, being thus op-, posed, authorizes the Thoroughbred Horse Association representative for New Orleans and Hot Springs to lodge protests with the proper person against the collection of such license, as has been proiwsed by the Oiiklawn Jockey Club at Hot Springs. Resolved, that the board of directors of the Thoroughbred Horse Association express its disapproval of the proposal of certain horsemen that there be shorter races at New Orleans, inasmuch as it has been a part of the effort of the Thoroughbred Horse Association to encourage the production of horses capable of running far ami fast.
