TURF NOTES FROM LANDS ABROAD A memorial service to the seventy members of the French Jockey Club who fell for their country in the war will l held at the Madeleine, Paris, next month. A fire broke out at Lord DAbernons stud at Usher last month, but fortunately none of the stock was destroyed. A brood mare and seven foals and yearlings wen; safely rescued by the head gardener. At Wellington. N. 7.., on January 30, the Wellington Cup of ,500, one mile and a half, was won by K. Dorsets Red RiblKjn. with W. Raleighs Kewl Poto second and J. B. Reids Pimka third. There were thirteen runners. At the Kimberley Turf Club meeting in September the Rand jockeys, J. Williams and W. Lorimer, accounted for the whole seven races on the days card, the former winning the first four races and the latter the last three. It. Is stated that Stmloch lias greatly improved since returning to Loughborough, and that W. J. Smith, who rode him to victory in 1914. will agaiu have the mount on him in the Liverpool Grand National Steeplechase this montli,
