REDUCTION IN TIME RECORDS EFFECTED SINCE 1880 TO THE PRESENT TIME AT ALL DISTANCES The best. American, records, represent a high order of speed with a steady lowering of records here and there annually. The table here presented shows the records as they stood in 1880, 1890, 1900, 1910 and as they arc today, forming an interesting exhibit of the gradual cutting down of records as the art of trackmaking became better understood. Students of turf problems will find food for reflection in the following tabulation: Present Present American Rec. Rec. Itcc. Roc. Dist. Rec. Holder. A. Wt. Track. Date.
