REMOVAL OF BLINKERS HELPED PILSEN XEW ORLEAXS, La., March 3. The recent performance of Pilsen brings out forcibly the sense in Jt-;e Murphys contention that blinkers seldom f ever help the spred of a race horse. When C. K Fountain bought Pilsen the horse was erratic and been ruled off for inconsistency. He had run 11 his races in blinkers. Judge Mnrphy suggested t Mr. Fountain that he do away with the blinkers, sxrl after a start or two Mr. Fountain did so. Since t;;en Pilsen has been running 100 per cent better s.3d going twice as far as he used to go in blinkers.
