f t ! SPEEDY HORSES WHICH RACED SUCCESSFULLY IN BEHALF OF R. F. CARMAN IN THE CAMPAIGN OF LAST YEAR . i Besides training for several others last year E. F. Carman had an efficient stable of his own in racing and fared quite well with it. Althoughnot his best money winner, the eleven -year-old Lissak horse G. M. Miller was the most interesting figure in his stable, this hardy old son of a capital race horse of other days being still able to nice to good effect and being the chief money winner of his age for the year. His bloixl lines are excellent and this old warrior of the race track, if given a chance might succeed as a sire. Two speedy sprinters,. Startling and Louise V.. were his leading money gainers, the former numbering the Pehu Stakes at Havre de Grace and the Cntskill Stakes at Saratoga among his spoils of the track. Louise V. won no stake races, but took six fat purses, besides frequently being placed, and was distinctly a credit to her young sire. The Turk. The Boy was a useful two-year-old and winner of the Sprightful Stakes at Empire City. Others that won in excess of ,000 each for him were Auntie, Blazeaway ar.d Nigel, and the record of the stable was: Horse. Col. and Sex. A.
