NEW YORKERS LUCKY TARPON Capt F II Schauffler a New Yorker has just returned from Fort Myers Flu where he took the record tarpon of the season a silver king weighing 154 pounds that was seven feet one inch in length lengthStrange Strange as it may seen Captain Schauffler took the prize on his first fishing trip for tarpon and on the first day that he ever wet a line for this acrobatic leaytr of the Florida waters watersThe The fish fought five hours and thirteen minutes and the reason for this was that the tarpon threw the hook but luckily for the angler it caught in the dorsal fin and in this manner the fisli was fought fur hours it being a nipandtuck battle as to whether the angler could bring the fish to the boat or the silver king regain its liberty The angler won the fight lasting from the afternoon until night
