EASTERN SELLING RACE PRICES LOW NEW YORK X V May 21 The numerous scratches at the Jamaica meeting are due it is said to the conditions of the selling races The majority of trainers say the prices arc too cheap and decline to start their horsea and take chances of them being claimed claimedThey They point out that the price of a thoroughbred has doubled since last year but that the selling races remain the same Tom Healey Tom AAelsh Jim Fitzsimmons Max Hirsch Jack Joyner Frank Regan Bill Hogan Louis Feustel Jerry Carroll Jimmy Murphy Jack Goldsborough William Kar rick and Otto Rasch are among those ivho have horses ready to race if they can find races for them The trainers will ask the Jockey Club and the secretaries of the different associations this week to change their programs and put on more condition races and make the selling races for 5000 down to l500 instead of froml000 down ¬ ward All agree that the real cheap horses should have an opportunity to race too but they declare Unit at present there are not enough races for horses except the championship contenders and the real cheap plater
