LUKE McLUKE YEARLING IN FAST WORK LEXINGTON, Ky.. November 17. Oe of the best moves of this autumn by a yearling at the local track of the Kentucky Jockey Club was shown Sunday morning by the Luke McLukc Carmen filly owned by .1. . :,nd ;. II. Keene anil trained by Dick Denny. Dr. W. E. Coover caught her in 22and, but her trainer and others got the quarter in 22. The dam of this filly was exceedingly fast and sold as a yearling to W. H. Karrick for one of his patrons, but she went wrong in training and the Messrs. Keene bought her back and put her iu the stud at Keeneland Farm.. Her daughter, was ridden in this trial by u boy,- who, with equipment, tipped the scales at 128 imhuhK Shu had a margin of four lengths en the Luke Mc-huke Aunt .Josio rilly at tlie finish. The Charles Edward Spanish Maid filly and the -Luke McLuke MIcaela filly worked head and head in 23. Four colts by Luke MeLuko. were also worked a quarter each, one in 23 and the others in 23!. It is intended that trainer Denny will winter these yearlings at Louisville, wherti they will be shipped about December 1.
