VETERAN MONEY WINNERS OF 1919 SLIPPERY ELM THE LEADER IN MONEY WON LAST YEAR BY THE HORSES SIX YEARS OLD OR OVER, WITH DUETTISTE, OLD ROSEBUD AND WARLOCK NEXT IN ORDER Some excellent rare hoists were in the 1MB division of those six years old or more, such veteran celebrities as Old Rosebud and Laechurea included. The chief money winner among then was tin good Rannocfcbnrn gelding, Slippery Elm. lie won nine races in thirty attempts, and in the fact that he was second in ten lies a fair suggestion that he might have been unlucky not to have won more. The steeplechaser Duetthtte Waa second to him. due mainly to the fact that he won t!u- valuable Manly Memorial Steeplechase, Considering that he only started in three races, he must be said to have h remarkably well in winning 2,990. Old Rosebud was but 1S behind him. hut his was the product of running first, second or third in tw nty-one of his thirty races. The only other winner of SIO.OOO in this division was the Jumper Warhn k.
