RUINED ROOSEVELT GAME PRESERVE PORTLAND Ore March Hi Lake Klamath a game preserve monument to Theodore Roosevelt has liecn destroyed by land operators and wildcat schemers who have out off its water supply from Klamath River When Roosevelt created the reser ¬ vation there sprang into being a wido open shallow alkaline lake ton or twelve miles long the homo of a vast multitude of birds The land is of little value for agricnltural purposes purposesIn In the view of W F Finley State Biologist of Oregon it is the mo t useless destruction of one ot our greatest of out of door resources and nothing gained The whole thing can be remedied if the Reclamation Service vill open the dikes and let the water back into Lower Klamath Lake Every eiti zon of this state should take the matter up with our Reclamation Service our Senators anil Representa ¬ tive In Wnslihitfton or with the Secretary of Agri ¬ culture If immediate action is secured Klamaili ake Reservation could be restored and would re ¬ main as a great living monument to Theodore Roose ¬ velt
