MUST PAY LEXINGTON LICENSE FEE LKXINOTON Ky April 10 Since the law passed by the recent legislature imposing a state tax of 00 a day does not become operative until May IS the Kentucky Jockey Club will have to pay 1000 a day or a total of 10000 to the City of Lexington under its present license ordi ¬ nance which is now operative for its tenday race meeting here beginning April U4 Mayor Hradley and the city commissioners announced today that while some questions had been raised as to tin right of the city to exact tlie license they will stand pat on the provision of the Lexington license ordinance and insist on the payment of the license which how ¬ ever will be the last paid by tin Jockey Club bore since operation of the state law will annul this provision later
