SENSELESS AND HIS CAPABLE PROGENY Senseless which is in a more or less humble ca ¬ pacity now keeping Prince Palatine company at the Due Decazes Haras dOnilly Xorinandy is re ¬ sponsible for Senparison son of Comparison which recently won the Willingdon Handicap of 1210 C800 to the winner at Calcutta He had pre ¬ viously won the Xew Years Handicap of 330 and before that the son of Senseless secured the Pan galoie Cnp lp to date Senparison has won six races value over 30200 rupees more than 2000 at the old rate of exchange Senseless also had a swift winner in the Inited States last year in Ophelia a then threeyearold filly dam Client Azalea by John o Gaunt In 11 she won eight races anil as a twoyearold scored four times Her total winnings amount to 1420 which is over 3000 Infortunately Ophelia contracted pneumonia and died in January last Senseless had little or no chance at the stud in England no doubt due to war conditions However such winners as Sen ¬ parison and Oplulia would seem to indicate that given a reasonable opportunity in France Sense ¬ less may yet sire something as good as himself The Due Decazes wisely stands him at a modest fee so that his services should be within reach of the French farmerbreeders He is a virile goodconstituted horse in excellent condition and prior to his shipment to France in February was passed quite sound by the veterinary surgeon of the Hoard of Agriculture Audax in Horse and Hound
