RECORD ATTENDANCE AT THORNCLIFFE Holiday Crowd of Immense Proportions Entertained With Program of Eight Eaces TOKONTO Out June 3 The largest crowd that ever attended a race meeting at Thorncliffe Park was present today the occasion being the kings birthday and a statutory holiday in Canada In addition to the regular card of seven races there vas a steeplechase at two miles for members of ilc Toronto Hunt Club Six horses went to the post and furnished a splendid race the winner bring Greek Patriot well ridden by his owner Mr Frank Proctor Dr AVarren set the pace for the first turn of the field when Dandy wont to the font Greek Patriot raced in a contending posi ¬ tion and when ready easily disposed of Dandy Antiseptic lost his rider at the fifth jump and Dr AVarren came to grief at the last obstacle obstacleClosing Closing with a welltimed rush in the stretch Bondage accounted for the Kawartha Handicap the sixth and feature race at Thonicliffc Park this afternoon He beat St Quentin and Frojjtowii a length at tin end and established new track rec ¬ ord by running the mile in 139 This marked the second winner of the day saddled by James Arthur Irish Jig scoring for him in the opening dash dashOwing Owing to the illness of his wife jockey 7 But well was unable to go to Dorval Park as planned on Tuesday night and he will now ride here during the remainder of this meeting meetingFor For dixolKMlience while at the post in the first race jockey Kodriguez wss fined S100 by starter Tribe TribePaula Paula A the winner of the third race paid 130 for 2 the longest piice of the meeting She ran away from Drl Hall and Little Maudie the curly leaders in the final eighth An inferior start injured The Generals chances
