FIELD DAY FOR W A BURTTSCHELL Saddles Three Winners at Dorval Before largest Crowd in History of Course MONTREAL Que June 5 Today was a banner day for the Dorval Jockey Club The largest crowd in the history of the course turned out this afternoon and packed the grandstand and lawns and for the first time since racing was in miguratcd here the clubhouse lawn was well filled An excellent program furnished some stirring con ¬ tests and AV A Burttschell played an important part in the afternoons proceedings He saddled three of the winners Mythology Ben Hampson and Midnight Sun The hitters victory came with the running of the afternoons feature Rice the apt AV F Presgrave Memorial Handicap a dash of a mile and a sixteenth to which 1200 was added Midnight Sun made a runaway affair of the race but was forced to stand a hard stretch drive to beat Soldat de Aerdun liy a scant length Burttschell won the previous running of this stake in 117 when he saddle Christie which he trained for E T Xollicoffer XollicofferThere There was a bit of rough riding in the second race which was won by Commander J K L Boss Aconi Salvatelle made the pace to the stretch turn where Aconi moved up with a rush and after being carried a bit wide by the leader bore over to the inside and bumped Salvatelle against the inside fence Salvatelle came again when she got straightened out Claims were dcixisitcd for Aconi by E T Zollicoffer and J K RnsselU and in the drawing Russell secured the horse for 2105 2105Rock Rock Silk was claimed out Of the race bv P L Cicere for 2105 2105A A carload of horses arrived at the Blue Bonnets trick from New York the shipment included three junipers the property of J Lumsden a dvision of the W L Oliver stable and A Rohrbaeks string stringAVIlliam AVIlliam Murray amiouncfd that he had secured controlling interest in the Maisonneuve track here and would announce tin dates for two meetings shortly shortlyJockeys Jockeys AVeiner and Ilcnpel were arrivals this morning the former coming up to ride Pen Bose and Salvatelle and the latter to pilot Soldat de Verdun AVeiner returns to New York tonight while llciipel will remain over for the Blue Bon ¬ nets anil Coiinanght Park meetings meetingsThere There were two claims in the seventh race yes ¬ terday C J Brockmillcr took the winner Corson and Miss May Kelly who lost Ihilistone a few days ago after he won claimed the horse Imck ImckTheodore Theodore Coles who is training a string for Mr Kennedy of Plattsbiirg Va wired asking for stalls He will ship to Montreal as soon as he can obtain a car carLouis Louis Marline has arranged to take over a half dozen twoyearolds to race on the Canadian cir ¬ cuit for John E Madden MaddenAV AV A McKinney had a claim in for Corson yes ¬ terday but it was thrown out for the reason that McKinney made a miscalculation and was 5 short of the proper amount necessary to claim her herHarry Harry Bilson who is interested in several horses in tin V A Burttschell stable was au arrival from Toronto
