BRIGHT PROSPECTS FOR WINDSOR Static Room Already at a Premium Big Entry List for 10000 Frontier Handicap DETROIT Mich July 1 Stable room at the Windsor Jockey Club will be at a premium long before the bugle calls the first field of horses to tiie post on opening day July 14 At the present time Edward J Itaxter assistant secretary of the club is Lead over heels in the task of opening and answering requests for ac ¬ commodations from horsemen in all parts of the country countryUnder Under the arrangements at present the club can take care of close to 900 head but the indications are that there will bo nearly 1 00 racers under shelter somewhre ere the gates are thrown back to admit the public to the rustic course in the Canadian city at the scheduled hour for the first lime in three years yearsTo To avoid congestion and dissatisfaction as much as possible Mr Itaxtcr will give stable preference to horsemen who have nominations in the stake events first and then endeavor to take care uf those who have no entries in the fixtures fixturesJust Just as soon as it was 111 established fact that racing would be resumed in the Dominion the applications fcr stalls started to flow in the wealth of the slakes handicips and overnight races attracting the foremost stables in the country countryIn In the stake races alone more than 300 nom ¬ inations have been made the number in the rich Frontier Handicap 10000 added exceeding all others and naturally so Therefore the job of taking care of those prize campaigners is a prob ¬ lem in itself itselfOn On the grounds there is shelter for SOO head and the outlying accommodations can provide for an ¬ other 100 Hut in view of the fact that Mr Itax ¬ tcr confidently predicts that the total number of horses for which room has lieen requested will exceed 1000 additional quarters must be erected erectedIt It isnt strange that so many horsemen want to flaunt their colors on the Windsor Jockey Clubs track At the first meeting alone more than 30 000 will be distributed in handicaps and stake races The overnight races will not be wortli less than 1 00 and some will offer even more in ¬ centive to the stables of lesser value and outside
