KILL LOUISIANA ANTIBETTING BILL NEW ORLEANS La July 5 The first definite action on racetrack legislation by the Louisiana State General Assembly was taken today when the Tohness antirace track betting bill was killed by the senate Indefinite ivostponement of the measure by the upper legislators brought the bill to its death deathThe The Johness bill prohibited betting of any kind at a race track prohibited the making of a verbal bet the passing of money or slips individual bet ¬ ting of any kind with or without money or writing and in various other ways was calculated to eliminate any and every angle of wagering in about or near a race track When the senate judiciary committee refused to take action on it Another bill an even mora drastic one than the Johness measure is due to come up for final passage in the senate this week This bill pro ¬ hibits the publication circulation or distribution of any card sheet publication or bulletin contain ¬ ing racing entries charts selections or any other kiud of information
