HAVANA TRACK IMPROVING Oriental Park Course Drying Out Old Presumption Still Able to Win. HAVANA, Cuba, November 20. Under the warm rays of the tropical sun Oriental track was in u, drying-out condition for the second days racing at the Marianao course. However, it will be several days before it will be at Its best "and the public found the task of selecting the horses best sdited to the going a difficult one. Draftsman was the choice in the opening dash, but whatever chance he may have had was lost when he was practically left at the post. The winner turned up in Promising Tom. 4 Marty Lou was successful in the second. Doctor D. in the third and Golden Chance in the fourth. Old Presumption showed that he is still able to run a good race by taking the fifth, while the final dasli fell to Rey Ennis. Manager Frank J. Bruen lias secured the services of Edward Burke of New York, who will act as associate steward during the meeting. Eddie Barnes, who rode here with good success lost year, is back again and is still under contract to Dee Hammond. J61M Lowe has probably the largest stable at Oriental Park, numbering twenty-one head, including seven yearlings bred and owned by Edward Ccbrlan of California. Five of the youngsters are by the stallion Von Tromp. The star of the older division of the Lowe stable is American Ace, regarded as one of the best sprinters in Kentucky this year. Circled the World, a three-year-old by Star Shoot Round the World, belonging to J. II. McAvoy, succumbed to illness while being shipped here. A yearling colt by Short Grass Miss Present, owned by Ed Springer, died as a result of an Injury when he fell while being led from the walk to the race track.
