JOCKEY MOONEYS BIG DAY Rides Three Winners at Bowie Yellow Hand Easily Triumphant. . B0WIE, Md., November 27. Jockey J. Mboney basked in the sunlight of public adulation at Prince George Park. today, his riding being the outstanding feature Of an excellent Saturday program that attracted almost-as large a crowd as was present Thanksgiving Day. Mboney rode .three of the seven winners; He began, the afternoon by bringing Favour home first in the opening dash, in which: Kingling II., the favorite, was. second and May W thirds -, In the: following race Mooney was- pitted against the veteran Butwell and both lads showed at their best. Mooney wasj astride Spearlene and by his energetic riding kept the son of Spearmint in the front, successfully resisting the best efforts of Buti-well on Aurum in the latters belated stretch rush. Only a lieadscparated ilse- two- at the. end ,aiut-;both riders employed every artifice of- their art to gain the decision, with the spectators wildly urging them on; Both were; loudly applauded on their return to the scales. . Mooneyes third success came in the fifth, race and here; again his tireless and energetic Efforts were in a great measure responsible for the surprising victor of Super over the odds-on favorite Jadda. The flatter, with d Robinson in. the saddle, rushed away in the lead of over ten lengths, but this proved his undoing, for, when entering the stretch, he began to tire and was no. match foe Super n a sinew-straining last eighth drive. Super, under Mdoneys waiting-tactics was fresh,: and ready when the favorite, tired. After overtaking him he quickly "raced him into defeat and was drawing clear in the last few strides. Jaddas defeat was a stunner to his many admirers and the biggest upset of the meeting. , The all aged handicap at one mile brought out the best field of the day and resulted in a contest .above the ordinary. Yellow Hand was returned the winner. Weiner, who rode the Wilson colt, was content to wait while Leochares and War Cry were racing each other into, exhaustion in" the early-stages and never made a move until the first mentioned took the lead. Then he sent Yellow Hand after the old fellow and, after passing him, drew away with such speed that Weiner took a strong hold on him in the final strides, enabling My Dear to draw up within" a. half length of him, Sunnyland and Woodthrush .accounted for the.sixth and seventh races respectively, both scoring easily. G. W. Forinan purchased Jack Reeves from Walter Fenwick before the races today and he performed under, the silks of his new- owner. Walter Fenwick purchased Wilfreda from J. M. Collins, to fill the vacancy in his string caused by the sale of Jack Reeves. . After -.the last race yesterday Madrono was claimed "from E. P. Summerficld by J. R. Skinker for ,S50. The two-year-old Sporting Blood that races for the Redstone: Stable, was excused from the Valiant Purse this afternoon on a report of illness. Dairyman was sold today to William Skinker.
