PLURIBUS STARTLES WORK WATCHERS NEW ORLEANS La March 25 Plurihus W J ORriens Kentucky Derby candidate startled a small group of horsemen who watched him work a mile in 144 over the rough Jefferson Park course here Tuesday This effort is remarkable when it is considered that the track is at least five seconds slower than when at its best and at its best the Jefferson course is not quite fast fastIt It was estimated by experienced horsemen that the workout of Iluribu was equivalent to 139 and this in spite of the fact that the horse was not altogether extended for the trial trialPlurihus Plurihus wintered perfectly at no time of the season being subject to slightest kind of ailment He is the picture of health and has put on flesh 1n the last few weeks He is a willing work horse and appears as if he cannot get enough to do doHorsemen Horsemen who a few months ago regarded the colt as scant are now changing their opinion and Pluribus will not be without backing if he goes to the post for the Derby
