NEW YORK POLITICS AND RACING NKYV VOUK X V March 27 The Retts bill placing a 12 per cent tax on racing was re ¬ ported out of the assembly committee on taxation Wednesday witli an amendment exempting trotting meetings and unless unforeseen complications occur the measure will pass both houses and will be signed by governor Miller It is expected to yield the state a yearling revenue of t00000 The tax will become effective immediately after the bill re ¬ ceives tlie approval of ihe governor governorAssemblyman Assemblyman N M Pette of Queens L I who introduced the jintlmemoraiidum measure with refer ¬ ence to oral betting will not say at whose request the measure was offered Its chances of passage at this late date are problematical
