LOUISVILLE TRACKS FAST Better Weather Brings Needed Improvement Leonardo II and Mates Take Exercise LOUISVILLE Ky April 11 Sunshine came to the rescue of the horseman in this city today and weather conditions were far more favorable for training than for several days past The going was ast at both Churchill Downs and Douglas Park and while a large number of horses were out for exercise only a few Kentucky Derby eligi bles were among them They had their big inning yesterday yesterdayJames James W McClelland and trainer Kim Patterson had the Xalapa Farm Stable liorses on the track at the Downs and they were given light exercise The twoyearolds comprised one set while Leo ¬ nardo II Bon Homme Eternal and The Wanderer made up the other otherJockey Jockey Andy Schuttingner contract rider for the Xalapa Stable was an arrival from the Vapoi City this morning and he was on Leonardo II when he took his limbering up jog A letter was received from trainer James Kowe by track superintendent Tom Young this morning requesting four additional stalls stating that he will bring twentyfour horses here instead of twenty as originally planned Kowe did not say in his message when lie intends to ship In this direction directionLord Lord Allen which is considered the peer of the twoyearold division at New Orleans will l e sent to Lexington either Friday or Saturday The T J Pendergast colt has been training well at Douglas Park and several times has shaded 85 in workouts at threeeighths of a mile He has numerous stake engagements on the Kentucky circuit circuitBob Bob Gaylor agent for the Montfort and B B Jones stable came in from Cincinnati He goes from here to Lexington where the Jones horses are quartered under the care of trainer Cal Milam MilamJockey Jockey Fred Merimee will ride for F W Staton on the Kentucky circuit this spring springGeorge George Kead stopped off here today en route to New York from Hot Springs Ark where he spenz five weeks lie plans to visit in Lexington for several days also alsoWilliam William Dondas owner of the Kosedale Stable a rathei siiwyssful astijblishmeiirvis ruhiyji ruhiyjir r Lu Lupast past winter came here from his home in Catonia Catoniatoday today and left for the West on a business mission
