RENO MEETING TO BEGIN MAY 30 BY PETE CLARK CLARKSAN SAN FKANC1SCO Cal April 11 The summer season of racing in the West will begin at Reno Nev on Memorial Day May 30 The Keno meeting will run for twentyone days There has been a reorganization of the busi ¬ ness men of Iteno The have adopted the name of the Nevada Jockey Club and S M Picketi was elected president of the new club He is well known in this locality being a member of the Democratic National Committee and a prominent merchant of Reno RenoW W W Finn has been selected as general man ¬ ager He announces that there will be au opening handicap with a value of 1000 or more also that there will be seven races each day and the purses will aggregate 2200 daily dailyThe The early opening of Keno will be of great benefit to liorsemen out this way as there will be little idle time between meetings as in the past few years Following close upon the Keno meeting will be the racing at Vancouver where there are two tracks The opening date set for there is July 15 Thomas J Wellman will have yharge of the Westminster Thoroughbred Association which op ¬ erates Hastings Park while Robert F Leighton will be the guiding spirit In charge of the Brig house track All told there will be fortytwo days of racing around Vancouver B 0
