WILLIAM A BRINGS 30000 Rancocas Stable Pays That Sum for Colt Bought Last Year for 2100 NEW YORK N Y June 7 The Rancocas Stable today I ought the twoyearold William A from C A Applcgate for 30000 William A has shown up as one of the best juveniles raced in the Kast this year and his development might well erve as a chapter for a book in the ups and downs f thoroughbred ownership Mr Applegate bought the colt last fall at the Jefferson Livingston sale for 2100 and although he has not had a great deal of experience with horses undertook the train ¬ ing of the youngster along with that of his other horses when his trainer the late Larry Keinheimcr became ill The success of his methods is proven by this sale Mr Applegates colors have been prominent on eastern and southern tracks for about four years The best previous bearer of them was the sprinter Arnold ArnoldWilliam William A is a black by Jack Atkin Tchera by Nasturtium His second dam is Oneck Queen by Ken Strome and the third dam Mary L tchcr by Alarm Tchera was bred by II K Knapp and Oncck Queen won frequently in that sportsmans colors William A was bred by John S Wiggins The colt worked five and a half furlongs down the itraightaway at Belmont Park Monday night in 107 the final fiveeighths in 100 This move was staged for the edification of Messrs H F Sinclair and S C Hildreth and it clinched the deal
