ALEXANDER HAMILTON, off forwardly, was rushed into the lead quickly and, making the pace fast, drew away after entering the stretch and held on resolutely in the final drive. MONASTERY raced close up throughout and made a fast and game finish. SQUAW MAN showed speed, but tired under his weight in the final drive. FRIGATE dwelt at the start and was never prominent. SURF RIDER began slowly and lacked; early speed, but came with a rush through the stretch and was tunning fastest of all at the finish, IRISH. BRIGADIER was a close-up contender all the way. SWEEP BY could not improve his position. SLEIVECONARD raced on the inside through the early running and could not pass Ins opponents. TOIL tired badly. BILLY McLAUGHLIN, under restraint in the early running, took the lead when called on in the stretch and held LADY GERTRUDE safe under hard pressure. LADY GERTRUDE, running in suddenly improved form, set a fast early pace, but was forced back on the last turn, then secured a clear course in the stretch and came again in a game finish. ST. ALLAN raced on the outside all the way and with a good rider might have won. RECOUNT was kicked while at the post and was outpaced throughout, but finished fast. Scratched 57449!!Tody. 105;
