: [ • , . ; i I ! , . i I ♦ « LUCKY HOURS DAM IS DEAD LEXINGTON, Ky., April 13.— Shortly after foaling an unusually large and handsome colt, by Fair Play, at the Nursery Stud this morning, Major August Belmonts valuable young mare, Lucky Catch, died. Mrs. Elizabeth Kane, manager of the Nurs-i ery Stud, set about to secure a fresh mare to suckle the foal and procured one not thoroughbred, from Miss Elizabeth Dain-I gerfield at Haylands Stud, which foaled during this afternoon. Substitution of the foals took place immediately, Lucky Catch was the dam of the Cold colt Lucky Hour by Hourless, with which E. F. Simms and Henry Oliver hope this year to win the Kentucky Derby. Lucky Catch, sister to Lucullite, was foaled in 1914 and was by Trap Rock brother to Tracery, from Lucky Lass, by Ormondale. Lucky Catch was reserved for the stud without racing and her first foal was the winner Lucky Find.
